This is such an important issue. A home here in Baraboo recently went from non-profit hands into for profit ownership, and staff and residents alike are ffinding it painful and unworkable. Even chaplains can't stand the working environment. We need either public ownership or ownership by non-profit, publicly held agencies to really care for those who need assisted living and nursing services.

It could be interesting to have those county board members financial history examined by the state. They voted for private ownership and covered it up by falsely stating the Home wasn’t profitable. So, who profited from the sale? It sure wasn’t done with citizens wellbeing in mind. Those members should be recalled at the very least.
